“BOTOX works in 7 out of 10
patients with chronic facial or
scalp pain, and the benefit
lasts several months”
Key Info:
- Botox will cause muscle weakness for 4-6
weeks - It may take up to 4 weeks to feel any benefit
- Pain relief often lasts much longer than the
weakness - You can’t drive or use Heavy machinery, if you feel weak or drowsy.
- The 1 st procedure is a Trial to assess your response to Botox and determine how As
long as the benefit lasts
“Please ask us if you need more information during your consultation. Your GP or Practice A pharmacist may also be able to advise you further.”
Our clinical opinion:
- Botox is the best ‘new treatment’ option for many pain
conditions, especially when:
o Other procedures are far too invasive,
o Steroid based injections are risky
o Nerve pain medications cause intolerable side effects. - Although Botox is only licenced for Chronic Migraine, but we
have successfully used it off-label for over a decade in various
chronic pain conditions.
